Art

Friday's have become art day at our house.  This is something Kristin of course looks forward to, and Kade tends to dread depending on the project.  Today's project was very simple, exploring with finger paints using different parts of their hands.

Kade did exactly as directed, he explored.

Kristin's explorations were a little more detailed.  She made a picture of herself, Kade, Kyler, and the baby sister she longs for.

Valentines Day

The kids this weekend made me presents for Valentine's Day.  Even though it's only September, I accepted their wonderful gifts because the truth is, for them to really think of me shower me in gifts is rare.

More Facts

I heard a statistic last year that talked about how there are more African American deaths to abortion than there are deaths of children starving in Africa.  This picture below reminded me of this statistic and the truth behind it.

Rainy Wednesday

Wednesdays have become a favorite day around here.  Kristin gets to spend the morning at an enrichment program (we have been blessed to live in a community with lots of great opportunities for homeschoolers).  And I get quality time with  my boys.

testing out our new sleep cap (aka du-rag), his hair was finally evening out and now he's getting more bald spots from the way he sleeps, this option was much cheaper thank silk/satin sheets

my kids still love dressing up, and many times their choices are quite entertaining

all ready for her 1st day of Wednesday morning classes

Praying Mantis

You never know what you are going to see around here.  I saw this praying mantis last week eating a large grasshopper.  Never a dull moment and I'm totally in awe of God's creation.  Of course seeing this did remind me of the movie "Honey I Shunk the Kids" and how as a small person, coming across a preying mantis could be deadly.
